Resumen de Agresiones al personal sanitario: una realidad oculta y silenciada

  Las agresiones al personal sanitario son un problema grave de salud pública. Lamentablemente la violencia por parte de usuarios y acompañantes ejercida contra el personal sanitario es una conducta cada vez más frecuente, con episodios de agresiones verbales y físicas. Los objetivos de este trabajo son: describir la situación real del problema, conocer la incidencia de las agresiones al personal sanitario, identificar cuáles son las principales causas que motivan estas agresiones así como las consecuencias y saber cuál es la normativa vigente ante estas agresiones.

  Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica con el fin de poder dar respuesta a los objetivos- La revisión se llevó a cabo en las bases de datos Pubmed, Sciencedirect y Scielo durante el mes de febrero de 2024 con estudios de investigación publicados en los últimos diez años, obteniendo 231 artículos. Tras descartar los duplicados y aquellos que no cumplían con los criterios de inclusión ni con los objetivos, se seleccionaron 24 artículos.

  Los resultados indican que las agresiones a profesionales sanitarios son un problema global y en continuo crecimiento la enfermería es el colectivo más afectado. La mayoría de estas agresiones suelen ser verbales y psicológicas aunque el porcentaje de físicas está aumentando. Estas agresiones tienen consecuencias muy negativas que afectan tanto a la salud de la víctima como a la propia organización. La mayoría de las agresiones no se notifican ni denuncian. La reforma del código Penal de 2015 continúa siendo insuficiente, siendo imprescindible un cambio legislativo que se ajuste a la realidad social. Es imprescindible una revisión urgente de los Planes de Prevención contra la Violencia en el ámbito sanitario en cada servicio de salud, con medidas que incluyan un aumento de la formación de los profesionales.

  Assaults on healthcare workers are a serious public health problem. Unfortunately, violence by users and accompanying persons against healthcare staff is increasingly frequent, with episodes of verbal and physical aggression. The objectives of this work are: to describe the real situation of the problem, to know the incidence of aggressions against healthcare personnel, to identify the main causes of these aggressions as well as the consequences and to know what the current regulations are regarding these aggressions.

  A literature review was carried out in order to be able to respond to the objectives. The review was carried out in the databases Pubmed, Sciencedirect and Scielo during the month of February 2024 with research studies published in the last ten years, obtaining 231 articles. After discarding duplicates and those that did not meet the inclusion criteria and objectives, 24 articles were selected.

  The results indicate that assaults on health professionals are a global and growing problem, with nursing being the most affected group. Most of these aggressions tend to be verbal and psychological, although the percentage of physical aggressions is increasing. These aggressions have very negative consequences that affect both the health of the victim and the organization itself. Most assaults go unreported and unreported. The 2015 reform of the Penal Code continues to be insufficient, and a legislative change that adjusts to the social reality is essential. An urgent revision of the Prevention Plans against Violence in the health sector in each health service is essential, with measures that include an increase in the training of professionals.
