This article performs a literature review on the topic of public procurement and artificial intelligence.
It critically analyses a growing body of literature, examines current theories and research trends, identifies research gaps and highlights potential paths for future exploration. The interdisciplinary corpus of literature consists of fifty-seven articles, book chapters and conference papers that blend technology, law and management perspectives. The analysis highlights that future research into public-procurement digitalisation should organically integrate policy, management and technological aspects, with data management as core point.
