Este artículo presentó los principales antecedentes de la reunificación de la región de Crimea y Sebastopol con la Federación Rusa. Existe una breve muestra de antecedentes de la historia contemporánea de Crimea, con especial énfasis en los traslados de soberanía que tuvo esta región desde el siglo XVIII, hasta la situación previa a la reunificación con la Federación Rusa. Posteriormente buscara los antecedentes o causas inmediatas que ocasionaron primero la independencia y luego la reunificación entre la región de Crimea y la Federación Rusa, se utilizan tanto fuentes provenientes de ensayos de historia y geopolítica como diarios de la época, que describen los acontecimientos. Como parte del objeto de este artículo se realiza un estudio geopolítico sobre la situación en Europa y Eurasia posterior a la desintegración de la Unión de Repúblicas Socialistas Soviéticas. Entre las conclusiones destaca, que la política de expansión hacia el este de Europa del bloque Unión Europea/OTAN resulta uno de los principales factores que desencadenaron el golpe de Estado en Ucrania en 2014, el cual es el antecedente inmediato del proceso de independencia y posterior reunificación de Crimea con la Federación Rusa.

This paper presented the main background of the reunification of the Crimea and Sevastopol region with the Russian Federation. There is a brief background sample of the contemporary history of Crimea, with special emphasis on the transfers of sovereignty that this region had since the 18th century, until the situation prior to the reunification with the Russian Federation. Subsequently, he will look for the antecedents or immediate causes that first caused independence and then the reunification between the Crimea region and the Russian Federation, sources from both history and geopolitical essays and newspapers of the time, which describe the events, are used. As part of the purpose of this article, a geopolitical study is conducted on the situation in Europe and Eurasia after the collapse of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Among the conclusions it is worth highlighting that the policy of expansion towards the east of Europe of the European Union / NATO block is one of the main factors that triggered the coup in Ukraine in 2014, which is the immediate antecedent of the independence and subsequent process Reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation.
