The aim of this study is to present the emergence and spread of telemedicine in Hungary. How did we move from landline telephones to the use of ICT devices and applications, what legal developments were needed to make this possible. We will look at the major turning points in this story, in particular the impact of COVID and the entry into force of GDPR, because both led to paradigm shifts in different but significant ways.
The focus of the study is on the development of the Hungarian legal environment and how it defines certain concepts of telemedicine.
