  • Starting with some general remarks on telehealth, the article traces backs and highlights some relevant characteristics of the development of the phenomenon in France. In particular, it focuses on the relationship between healthcare services and the local territories, and the possible reshaping thereof that telehealth may contribute to, without however failing to stress the importance not to underestimate the several shortcomings of telehealth, and the reasons why they may ultimately jeopardize telemedicine’s many promises of improvements for provision oh healthcare services in the local territories.
