  • Resumen
    • Within the diverse robotic assisted gait machines for stroke patients BETTER represents a novel approach on brain/neural computer interaction (BNCI) and on especially driven therapies.

Robotic intervention related to information from the central nervous system is possible with a multimodal BNCI system that interacts with gait exoskeletons that exert physical stimulation at the periphery as a function of targeted neural activation patterns. Generation of motor modules during Robotic-assisted, body-weight-supported treadmill training is achieved by capturing lower limb muscles EMG signals at di erent speeds and levels of guidance. Preliminary results are presented and further plans to fuse EMG and brain signals to constitute a novel Top-Down approach for robotic gait training are described. The overall therapeutic approach is intended to promote the participation of the patient to improve the functional outcome.
