Resumen de Una aproximació al lèxic tradicional de Crevillent: mots caducs, romanalles i localismes

Aquest treball pretén actualitzar el contingut de dos articles publicats per l’autor fa dues dècades sobre el lèxic peculiar de la població de Crevillent. Vol donar a conéixer alguns dels mecanismes pels quals determinades unitats lèxiques (paraules), que han quedat relegades al desconeixement de la gran majoria dels parlants d’una comunitat lingüística, encara perduren “fossilitzades” en determinades accepcions, en contexts molt reduïts, dites, refranys, cançons i fins i tot rondalles. S’hi vol oferir un llistat prou representatiu d’aquesta mena de vocabulari, explicant-ne algunes de les circumstàncies particulars que ha patit a través del canvi lingüístic. És un llistat on trobarem des de mots de la més pura catalanitat, usats en la major part del domini de la llengua, però desplaçats a Crevillent per barbarismes, fins a localismes i arcaismes que, al contrari, han desaparegut de la resta dels territoris i es conserven en aquesta població en diversos graus de vitalitat. Tot això conforma un petit corpus del lèxic característic de la població estudiada. Aquest llistat hauria de tenir també una finalitat divulgativa i didàctica, en diferents vessants, com ara, l’explicació de la unitat de la llengua catalana amb exemples mostrats, o la revitalització i potenciació de lèxic peculiar, local, que molts dels parlants desconeixen per tractar-se de mots que només fan servir les persones més grans. En sentit ampli parlem, doncs, d’un vocabulari que podem qualificar de peculiar o característic i també, en bona part, d’“antic”.

This work aims to update the content of two articles published by the author two decades ago on the peculiar lexicon of the population of Crevillent. It wants to make known some of the mechanisms by which certain lexical units (words), which have been relegated to the ignorance of the vast majority of speakers of a linguistic community, still remain “fossilized” in certain meanings, in very small contexts, expressions, sayings, songs and even fables. The aim is to provide a sufficiently representative list of this type of vocabulary, explaining some of the particular circumstances it has undergone through language change. It is a list where we will find from words of the purest Catalanness, used in most of the domain of the language, but displaced in Crevillent by barbarisms, to localisms and archaisms that, on the contrary, have disappeared of the rest of the territories and they are preserved in this population in various degrees of vitality. All this forms a small corpus of the lexicon characteristic of the population studied. This list should also have an informative and didactic purpose, in different aspects, such as the explanation of the unity of the Catalan language with local examples, or the revitalization and empowerment of peculiar, local lexicon, which many speakers are unaware of. These are words that only older people use. In a broad sense, we are talking about a vocabulary that we can describe as peculiar or characteristic and also, to a large extent, “old”.
