    El objetivo de este artículo es resaltar la importancia de las Elecciones al Parlamento Europeo a partir del análisis del balance positivo de esta IX legislatura, donde nos hemos podido enfrentar a la pandemia de la Covid-19, la retirada del Reino Unido y a la agresión rusa en Ucrania. Quizás el hecho más importante e inacabado es la necesidad de pasar del federalismo de facto al federalismo de iure, que es lo que tendrá que resolverse en esta X legislatura. Asimismo, la UE tendrá que hacer frente a la ampliación a 9 o 10 nuevos Estados, pero antes habrá que abordar una reforma de los Tratados en profundidad.

    This article aims at highlighting the importance of the Elections of the European Parliament, through an analysis of the positive outcome of the 9th term, in which the EU has faced the Covid-19 pandemic, the withdrawal of the United Kingdom and the Russian aggression in Ukraine. Maybe the most important unresolved issue is the necessity of transforming the de facto federalist achievements into de iure federalism, which should be accomplished in the next 10th term. Moreover, the EU will have to face the enlargement to 9 or 10 new members, but before it must address an in-depth reform of the Treaties.
