    El objetivo de este trabajo es rendir homenaje al cronista del ingenio popu-lar de mi bella Cuba, Juan Formell, uno de los grandes e insignes de la música popular cubana, el eterno director de la orquesta “Los Van Van”. Además, se pretende destacar la valía de la letra de sus composiciones para el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de español como segunda lengua y la cultura; hoy, a través de sus canciones, el amuleto de la música popular cubana recrea vivencias de diferentes momentos de la realidad cotidiana del pueblo. Sirva este artículo como un homenaje a este humilde músico que le entregó al cubano alegría, ritmo, sabrosura, espiritualidad y sobre todo respeto a la identidad.

    The objective of this work is to pay tribute to the chronicler of the popular ingenuity of my beautiful Cuba, Juan Formell, one of the great and distinguished of Cuban popular music, the eternal conductor of the “Los Van Van” orchestra. In addition, it is intended to highlight the value of the lyrics of his compositions for the teaching and learning process of Spanish as a second language and culture; Today, through his songs, the amulet of Cuban popular music recreates experiences of different moments of the daily reality of the people. Serve this article as a tribute to this humble musician who gave the Cuban joy, rhythm, wisdom, spirituality and above all respect for identity.
