El entramado mítico y trans-/intermedial en la imaginería textil de Cecilia Vicuña

    A partir de la propuesta trans/intermedial, este ensayo estudia las diversas inscripciones míticas prehispánicas en el trabajo artístico y poético de la artista y poeta chilena Cecilia Vicuña. El objetivo es analizar las inscripciones míticas indoamericanas relacionadas con el tejido y el texto-textil en su dimensión simbólica y ecocrítica. La temática textil se estudia tanto en los cortos “Paracas” (1983), “Khipu/Ce’que” (2010) y “Quipu Austral” (2012), como en sus instalaciones artísticas y en las propuestas poéticas de Vicuña, con el fin de desarrollar un análisis desde la estética del rizoma yuxtapuesta a la idea de una constante reelaboración de la materia mítica a través de la metáfora textil en su dimensión semiótica medial. Este análisis propone un examen del pensamiento mítico textil desde la semiótica de Greimas frente al dualismo oposicional de las culturas amerindias, incursiona el imaginario mítico del cordón y bestiario textil latinoamericano y, por último, enfoca la construcción de las identidades de género. El complejo mítico muestra la envergadura de los “Estudios del Texto-Textil” (pos)coloniales y subalternos con respecto a la interdisciplinaridad de la bioantropología, del antropoceno, la ecología y la biodiversidad en el entramado geo-espacio natural y la Nación, entendida como cuerpo, articulación prima y jurídica. Este estudio combina perspectivas indígenas en su diversidad cultural considerando también Brasil como espacio geo-político y cultural.

    Starting from the trans/intermedial proposal, this essay examines the different inscriptions of mythical and pre-Hispanic nature regarding the artistic and poetic works of the Chilean artist and poet Cecilia Vicuña. The objective is to analyze Indo-American mythical inscriptions related to weaving and the ‘textile-text’ within their symbolic and ecocritical dimensions. The textile theme is explored through the short films “Paracas” (1983) and “Khipu/Ce’que” 2010), and “Quipu Austral” (2012), as well as Vicuña’s artistic installations and poetic works. The aim is to conduct an analysis that juxtaposes the aesthetics of hizome with the concept of a continual reinterpretation of mythical elements through the textile metaphor within its medial semiotic dimension. This analysis proposes an examination of mythical textile through Greimas’ semiotics, contrasting it with the oppositional dualism present in Amerindian cultures. It delves into the mythical imagery of the Latin American textile cord and bestiary, and ultimately focuses on the construction of gender identities. The complexity of the mythical narrative demonstrates the significance of (post)colonial and subaltern Text-Textile Studies, considering the interdisciplinary aspects of bioanthropology, the Anthropocene, ecology and biodiversity in the natural geo-space framework and the Nation, understood as a body, articulation premium and legal. This study integrates indigenous perspectives, recognizing their cultural diversity, and encompasses Brazil as a geopolitical and cultural space.
