    • The article shows the importance of reforming the education system at the current stage of society's development to create an effective management system in the educational space. The role of an innovative university in creating an effective management system in the educational space is revealed; the principle provisions of the new management paradigm are highlighted; the formation of an effective management system in the educational space of higher education institutions is proposed. The main mechanisms and functions of control for carrying out reforms to form an effective management system in the educational space of a higher education institution are revealed; the main types of management activities are described. The main functions for controlling the management system are highlighted; the principles of the development of the management system in the educational space of higher education institutions and the task of an innovative research university by the peculiarities of the organization of the management system in the educational space is proposed. An experimental study was conducted during which we investigated the importance of an innovative management system in the educational space, the professional development of heads of higher education institutions, and the level of quality of higher education in higher education institutions.
