Los crucificados novohispanos en Córdoba revisiones y nuevas propuestas

    El descubrimiento de América en 1492 supuso un hito de primera magnitud para la historia universal. El impacto se podría calibrar a través de distintos indicadores entre los que destaca el fenómeno de los intercambios culturales. En el campo del arte, este hecho dio lugar a un interesante mestizaje artístico del que nacerían un tipo de imágenes hechas en caña de maíz. La producción fue tan abundante en los siglos XVI y XVII que ha suscitado el interés de los investigadores. En este estudio revisamos los datos existentes sobre un conjunto de crucificados, procedentes de Nueva España, que se veneran en Córdoba y que están realizados en este material. Además, proponemos ampliar el catálogo con dos imágenes de Cristo que siguen razonablemente el estilo de estos crucificados novohispanos.

    The discovery of America in 1492 was a milestone of the first magnitude for world history. The impact could be calibrated through different indicators, among which the phenomenon of cultural exchanges stands out. In the field of art, this fact gave rise to an interesting artistic miscegenation from which a type of images made of corn cane would be born. The production was so abundant in the 16th and 17th centuries that it has aroused the interest of researchers. In this study we review the existing data on a group of crucified people from New Spain who are worshiped in Córdoba and who are made from this material. In addition, we propose to expand the catalog with two images of Christ that reasonably follow the style of these New Spain crucifieds.
