Produção do espaço urbano de Vitoria da Conquista e os aspectos da população idosa no contexto urbano

    According to the Demographic Censuses of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics -IBGE, it is possible to verify that there is an aging of the urban population of Vitória da Conquista, followed by an increase in the population residing in urban areas. In recent years, the city of Vitória da Conquista has had an urban structure that is quite fragmented and at the same time unequal. This picture has been taking shape since the mid-20th century with the rapid expansion that the city produced in the 1970s and 1980s. It appears that the expansion of the capitalist mode of production intensified socio-spatial inequalities in cities and accelerated the process of capitalist accumulation that , on the one hand, began to reproduce in all corners of the world, a condition of life based on the production of capital and, on the other hand, the spatial production of the city, generates a uniqueness of places that ends up producing a unique morphology with spatial forms differentiated, moved by the logic of the representation of the urban space, in this sense, the singularity found in Vitória da Conquista and demonstrated in this research is that the urban expansion that occurred at the end of the 20th century and beginning of the 21st century, brought with it an aging population that in it dwells. What is intended here is to contribute to the discussion of the modernity of geographic thought in the light of the moment of crisis and rupture of the current paradigm, and to encourage the discussion of a concrete science, which materializes in a concrete space. The objective of this work is to demonstrate the socio-spatial inequalities derived from the production of urban space in Vitória da Conquista-BA, having as a guiding principle the analysis of the issue of the aging of the urban population to the detriment of the spatial production that occurs in the city, as well as an evaluation of the spatiality urban center aimed at serving this population group that lives in Vitória da Conquista-BA.

    De acordo com os Censos Demográficos do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística - IBGE é possível verificar que existe um envelhecimento da população urbana de Vitória da Conquista, seguido de um aumento da população que reside em área urbana.  Nos últimos anos a cidade de Vitória da Conquista passou a ter uma estrutura urbana bastante fragmentada e ao mesmo tempo desigual. Esse quadro vem se delineando desde meados do século XX com a rápida expansão que a cidade produziu nos anos de 1970 e 1980.  Verifica-se que a  expansão do modo de produção capitalista acirrou as desigualdades socioespaciais nas cidades e acelerou o processo de acumulação capitalista que, por um lado, passou a reproduzir em todos os cantos do mundo, uma condição de vida pautada na produção do capital e, por outro, a produção espacial da cidade, gera uma singularidade dos lugares que acaba por produzir uma morfologia singular com formas espaciais diferenciadas, movidas pela lógica da representação do espaço urbano, neste sentido,  a singularidade constatada em Vitória da Conquista e demonstrada nessa pesquisa é que a expansão urbana ocorrida no final do século XX e inicio do século XXI,  trouxe consigo um envelhecimento da população que nela habita. O que pretende aqui é produzir uma contribuição à discussão da modernidade do pensamento geográfico à luz do momento de crise e ruptura do paradigma vigente e, fomentar a discussão de uma ciência concreta, que se materializa num espaço concreto. O objetivo deste trabalho é demonstrar as desigualdades socioespaciais derivadas da produção do espaço urbano de Vitória da Conquista-BA, tendo como fio condutor  a analise da questão do envelhecimento da população urbana em detrimento da produção espacial que ocorre na cidade bem como uma avaliação da espacialidade urbana  voltada para o atendimento  dessa faixa populacional que habita em Vitória da Conquista-BA.
