  El objetivo general de la investigación fue analizar jurídicamente la política pública para impulsar el uso adecuado del agua potable, Pimampiro, Imbabura, Ecuador. La presente investigación utilizó el método cuantitativo el cual produce datos descriptivos, que se originan por la recolección de datos. Apoyado en la revisión documental-bibliográfica. Además, se aplicó el método inductivo-deductivo. Se planteó además el método analítico-sintético. La técnica utilizada es la encuesta para recabar información sobre el problema descrito, a través de la aplicación de un cuestionario a una muestra de 150 beneficiarios específicamente de la parroquia Chuga. Se concluye que, las políticas públicas son un instrumento desarrollado por el estado ecuatoriano a través de los Gobiernos Autónomos Descentralizados; son un instrumento de transformación de la sociedad; finalmente, consiste en la sensibilización de los habitantes de la parroquia Chuga, sobre el uso adecuado del agua potable y la importancia del mismo.

  The general objective of the research was to legally analyze the public policy to promote the adequate use of drinking water, Pimampiro, Imbabura, Ecuador. This research used the quantitative method, which produces descriptive data, originating from data collection. Supported by the documentary-bibliographic review. In addition, the inductive-deductive method was applied. The analytical-synthetic method was also used. The technique used is the survey to collect information on the problem described, through the application of a questionnaire to a sample of 150 beneficiaries specifically from the parish of Chuga. It is concluded that public policies are an instrument developed by the Ecuadorian state through the Decentralized Autonomous Governments; they are an instrument for the transformation of society; finally, they consist of raising awareness among the inhabitants of the Chuga parish about the appropriate use of drinking water and its importance
