    Mediante un análisis documental, este artículo explora la definición de seguridad humana y su implementación en la gestión de las Fuerzas Armadas. Se busca responder cómo pueden salvaguardarse las libertades y derechos que abarca la seguridad humana desde las instituciones del Estado social de derecho. A través de la revisión documental, se demuestra que esta no es responsabilidad exclusiva de una sola institución, sino que requiere un trabajo articulado de todos los actores comprometidos con estas libertades, con base en una política integral de Estado. Se concluye que el debate gira en torno a cómo lograr la seguridad humana mediante el desempeño militar sin descuidar su misión constitucional de protección. Es necesario, por tanto, armonizar la promoción humana y las capacidades de las Fuerzas Armadas sin comprometer su mandato constitucional.

    Through a documentary analysis, this article explores the definition of human security and its implementation in Armed Forces management. It seeks to answer how to protect freedoms and rights encompassed in human security by the institutions of the social State under the rule of law. Through a documentary review, it is shown that this is not exclusive responsibility of a single institution but requires an articulated work by all the actors committed to these freedoms, based on a comprehensive state policy. It is concluded that the debate is based on how to achieve the human security through the military performance without overlooking its constitutional mission of protection. Therefore, it is necessary to align human development and the Armed Forces capabilities without compromising their constitutional mandate.
