    El predominio de cursos tradicionales en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de las ecuaciones diferenciales en carreras de ciencias e ingeniería, provoca insatisfacción e incomprensión en los estudiantes, debido a la forma en que están concebidos. El empleo de métodos como el análisis-síntesis, propiciaron que en este estudio se lograra caracterizar el proceso a partir del análisis de sus componentes externos: materia de estudio, enseñanza y aprendizaje. Para ello se identificaron y analizaron las orientaciones teóricas y tendencias actuales del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de las ecuaciones diferenciales, con el fin de diseñar alternativas más atractivas y novedosas para su estudio.
