• Sepsis is one of the leading causes of death in the hospitals and it is of great importance to diagnose sepsis as early as possible. In this work we investigate the early diagnosis of sepsis using the approach of survival analysis.

  In particular, we described `sepsis' and `nonsepsis' as two competing events and modeled the disease progression using a multi-state model.
