Resumen de Contribución de la educación ética al desarrollo moral de los estudiantes de enfermería de la Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) – Colombia

En un estudio efectuado para evaluar el nivel de desarrollo moral de los estudiantes de enfermería de la UIS, según teoría kohlbergiana, se encontró, en general, mayor frecuencia en el desarrollo del juicio moral convencional, llamando la atención el elevado desarrollo moral de la etapa 5A del nivel post-convencional, estadísticamente significativo, alcanzado por los estudiantes de tercer semestre académico, en comparación con los niveles superiores. Este resultado podría relacionarse con las dinámicas académicas con importante contenido ético del primer año de la carrera, especialmente con la asignatura de “ética en enfermería”, enfocada al reconocimiento de los estudiantes como sujetos de ética, sujetos políticos, cuidadores de la vida y cuidadores de enfermería, a diferencia de los estudiantes de niveles superiores que reciben educación ética aplicada, situación que coincide con algunos autores que afirman que en ciencias humanas y carreras que enfatizan contenidos éticos y humanísticos los estudiantes presentan mayor desarrollo moral. El objetivo de este trabajo es establecer si existe alguna relación entre el desarrollo de la asignatura “ética en enfermería” y demás dinámicas del primer año de estudio y el desarrollo moral de los estudiantes de nivel III de enfermería de la UIS.

In a study carried out to evaluate the level of moral development of nursing students of the UIS, according to Kohlberg´s theory, it was found, in general, greater frequency in the development of conventional moral judgment, drawing attention to the high moral development of stage 5A of the post- conventional level, statistically significant, achieved by the students of the third academic semester compared to the higher levels.This result could be related to the academic dynamics with important ethical content of the first year of the career, especially, with the subject of "ethics in nursing", focused on the recognition of students as subjects of ethics, political subjects, caregivers of life and nursing caregivers, unlike students at higher levels who receive applied ethical education, a situation that coincides with some authors who affirm that in human sciences and careers that emphasize ethical and humanistic content, students present greater moral development.The objective of this paper is to establish if there is any relationship between the development of the subject "ethics in nursing" and dynamics of the first year of study and the moral development of students of level III of nursing of the UIS.
