  • Resumen
    • System reliability studies usually assume independent lifetimes for the components in the estimation of the reliability of the system. This assumption in general is not reasonable in many engineering applications, since it is possible the presence of some dependence structure among the lifetimes of the components which could a ect the evaluation of the reliability of the system. In the present study, it is assumed a dependence structure for the components and provided a new method to estimate the reliability of a n-component series system using a multivariate geometric distribution derived from the Marshall-Olkin method used due to its simplicity and exibility.
