Este artículo pretende dar a conocer el inventario los denominados “caminos reales” en Panamá, y de lo poco que se sabe de ellos. Forman parte de estos caminos reales una serie de edificaciones, en ruinas perdidas dentro de la selva y la llanura, y ubicaciones de antiguas aldeas o caseríos que fueron parte importante del movimiento económico de lo que hoy es nuestro país, durante la colonia. Analizando diferentes fuentes bibliográficas, se da a conocer acerca del hallazgo histórico de estos caminos, lo encontrado en ellos, los esfuerzos existentes en preservarlos y por encontrar más, a pesar de sus amenazas por parte de la desidia de las autoridades. Se concluye con una serie de iniciativas que permitan explotar estos caminos a través del turismo sostenible por medio de circuitos turísticos culturales.

This article aims to present the inventory (so to speak) of the so-called "royal roads" in Panama, and the little that is known about them. These royal roads are part of a series of buildings, in ruins or lost within the jungle and the plain, and locations of old villages or hamlets that were an important part of the economic movement of what is now our country, during the colony. Analyzing different bibliographic sources, it becomes known about the historical discovery of these roads, what was found there, the existing efforts to preserve them and to find more, despite their threats from the negligence of local authorities. It concludes with a series of initiatives that allow these roads to be exploited through sustainable tourism through cultural tourist circuits.
