    La investigación realizada es de tipo documental, descriptiva presentada a través del análisis bibliográfico, a fin de esbozar las etapas seguidas en el proceso de adaptabilidad de las Normas Internacionales de Contabilidad, específicamente, los módelos NICs, NIIF, NIAs, y la NIIF para PYMES.    Este proceso comprendio varias fases, inicio con la revisión de las resoluciones emitidas por la Junta Técnica de Contabilidad, las Demandas Contensioso Administrativas de Nulidad y los fallos de la Corte Suprema de Justicia, los cuales incluyen las problematicas derivadas, de su adopción en el entorno panameño y cómo, posteriormente, se adopto la norma.

      El presente estudio refleja un análisis del antes y después de la adopción de los estándares internacionales de Contabilidad en Panamá.

    The developed investigation is a documentary and descriptive type presented through a bibliographical analysis in order to sketch out the steps followed in the process of adaptability of the International Accounting Standards, specially, the models: IAS, IFRS, ISAs and IFRS for SMEs.

      This process followed several phases; it starts with the resolutions emitted by the Accounting Thecnicall Board, Administrative Litigations Demands of Nulity and the decisions of the Supreme Court of Justice, wich included the problems originated by its adaptation in the Panamanian´s environment, and how this standard was later adopted.

      The present study reflects the analysis of the today and tomorrow for the adaptation of the International Accounting Standards in Panama.
