Se realizó un estudio enteroparasitológico de los niños residentes en el área rural del valle de Lluta Arica Chile. De 150 niños examinados se encontró un 72% de infección enteroparasitológica, siendo los más prevalentes, Giardia lamblia (30%), Endolimax nana (27,3%) y Enterobius vermicularis (28%)
In absence of epidemiological data on enteroparasites in a children residents in the rural area of Arica - Chile, Lluta valley, a study was carried out. Faecal samples were collected from 150 children of 2-13 year old, procesing to Burrows method and Graham test. The overall parasitic infection, pathogen and comensal organisms included, yield 72%, and prevalence of the most important parasites was: Giardia lamblia (30.0 %) Endolimax nana presenta (27,3%), Enterobius vermicularis (28,0%). It was observed that the highest percentage of children that age between 6-13 old year (60%). The results obtained in the present study registered high prevalence of intestinal parasitism in the children residents in the rural area, indicanding deficiency health education in relation of personal and environmental hygiene associated with deficient sanitary conditions
