Resumen de Primitivos fonológicos de tempo extrínseco vs primitivos de tempo intrínseco

  This paper aims at presenting and discussing the distinction established between phonological models of intrinsic timing control and phonological models of extrinsic timing control. Based on phonetic data reported by the literature, especially the ones concerning coarticulation and gradient allophonies, we argue that the only way of dealing satisfactorily with such phenomena is considering "time" to be intrinsic to the structure of the unit of analisis. This representation that incorporates "time" to the prime structure is necessary because many of the reported facts concerning coarticulation and gradient allophonies are conditioned by the prosodic structure of the languages.

  Este texto tem por objetivo expor e discutir a distinção entre modelos fonológicos com controle temporal intrínseco e modelos fonológicos com controle temporal extrínseco. Argumenta-se, com base em dados da literatura fonética – em especial aqueles concernentes a coarticulações e a alofonias gradientes – e com base em modelos dinâmicos de produção da fala, que só é possível dar conta de representar tais fatos na língua caso a variável tempo seja incorporada à estrutura do primitivo de análise. E essa representação faz-se necessária dado que a literatura mostra que muitos desses fatos são condicionados pela estrutura prosódica das línguas em que ocorrem.
