    Based on a historical and bibliographic research, this work derived from a thesis in Communication and Culture. This article seeks to describe and analyze the ways in which the Arab immigrants, who arrived in Brazil in the beginning of the 20th century.  The great majority of these immigrants were coming from The Great Syria and directly influenced by the ideals of the Renaissance of Arab art and culture, Al Nahda, transformed and discursively represented the migratory experience in the diaspora through an extensive production of printed media. We observed that those immigrants form new transnational communications networks that simultaneously dealt with political issues in their countries of origin and served as vehicles for socialization in the new Brazilian urban spaces.

    A partir de um pesquisa histórica e bibliográfica, oriunda de um trabalho de tese em Comunicação e Cultura, este artigo busca descrever e analisar as maneiras pelas quais os imigrantes árabes que chegaram ao Brasil no começo da século XX, a grande maioria proveniente da Grande Síria e influenciados diretamente pelos ideais do Renascimento da arte e da cultura árabe, a Al Nahda, transformaram e representaram discursivamente a experiência migratória na diáspora através de uma extensa produção de mídias impressas. Observamos que estes imigrantes formaram novas redes de comunicações transnacionais que simultaneamente tratavam de questões de cunho político em seus países de origem e serviam como veículos de socialização nos novos espaços urbanos brasileiros.
