    El desprendimiento de retina (DR) es una patología que podemos ver de forma frecuente en el quirófano. Existen diferentes tipos, sin embargo, el más frecuente es el desprendimiento de retina regmatógeno (DRR). Actualmente existen muchas posibilidades terapéuticas que se pueden combinar entre sí y que han demostrado ser muy eficaces. El objetivo de este artículo es ampliar el conocimiento sobre esta afección a través de la epidemiología, los factores de riesgo, las manifestaciones clínicas, el diagnóstico, el tratamiento y también poner énfasis en la importancia de la diagnóstico y actuación precoz, así como en una buena educación poblacional dando importancia de acudir a revisiones periódicamente.

    Retinal detachment (RD) is a pathology that we can frequently see in the operating room. There are different types, however the most common is rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD). Currently there are many therapeutic possibilities that can be combined with each other and that have proven to be very effective. The objective of this article is to expand the knowledge about this condition through epidemiology, risk factors, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment and also to emphasize the importance of diagnosis and early action as well as a good population education on the importance of going to reviews.
