Impact of Chinese cultural elements on spiritual expression in oil painting imagery landscape: An exploratory study in arts education

    • Objective: The objective of this study is to examine the complex interconnections among various aspects of oil painting imagery landscapes, with a specific emphasis on cultural factors, spirituality, the medium of oil painting, imagery landscapes, arts education, and the influence of Chinese art. Methodology: The study examines the importance of these characteristics in influencing modern art, utilizing a varied panel of expert respondents. Through an analysis of their interaction, the objective is to enhance our comprehension of artistic manifestation and the dynamics of global culture. This study utilized qualitative research methodologies to conduct semi-structured interviews with a sample of eleven experts from several domains, including art, culture, and education. The researchers utilized thematic analysis as a methodological approach to extract and classify topics and sub-themes derived from the interviews. The methodology employed in the study facilitated a comprehensive examination of the variables, thereby uncovering intricate and nuanced perspectives from the participants. Resutls: The results provide light on the persistent impact of Chinese cultural aspects in the realm of art, demonstrating the symbiotic relationship between tradition and innovation. The phenomenon of spiritual expression is observed to be a pervasive theme that surpasses cultural limitations, providing valuable perspectives on the enduring pursuit of transcendence and inner serenity. Conclusion: Oil painting, being a durable medium, demonstrates the ability o accommodate changing artistic environments while maintaining its fundamental characteristics. The utilization of imagery in landscapes serves as a reflection of the evolving dynamics between humans and their surrounding environment, including urban environments. This visual representation not only captures the physical transformations but also encapsulates the societal meanings associated with these changes. The field of arts education has been recognized as a significant driver of comprehensive development, however it also presents certain obstacles in terms of integration. The influence of China, which encompasses both positive and contentious aspects, presents an opportunity for sophisticated cross-cultural investigation.
