Resumen de Cross-cultural communication and cognition of traditional handicraft paper-cutting in art anthropology education

Dong Shu

  • Objectives: This study investigates the complex interconnections among traditional handicraft paper-cutting instruction, creativity, and cross-cultural communication. The objective is to clarify how learners’ perspectives of the significance and indispensability of education in this artistic discipline impact their creativity and cross-cultural communication abilities. The study examines the relationship between creativity, education, and cultural competence in the specific setting of traditional paper-cutting instruction, drawing on relevant ideas. Methodology: A systematic questionnaire was used to collect data from 303 students who were enrolled in five arts institutions in Hunan Province, China. The study utilises Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) for analysis. The study employs a scale that is grounded on prior research, thus insuring both reliability and validity. Results: The results demonstrate notable and favourable correlations between the perceived educational worth, cross-cultural communication abilities, and creativity in the setting of traditional paper-cutting. With the development of the economy, people’s education level has improved, living conditions have improved, and the public’s concept has shifted from meeting basic living needs to pursuing a better and more high-quality life (Huang, Y., & Zheng, G., 2023). Cross-cultural communication plays a crucial role in influencing the connection between the perceived educational value and creativity. These findings highlight the significance of acknowledging the worth of cultural education and incorporating cross-cultural communication courses within art anthropological curricula. This study facilitates the understanding of creativity, education, and cultural competence, particularly in the context of preserving traditional art. Additional investigation into these connections across many cultural contexts and longitudinal studies to analyse their dynamics are necessary. Conclusion: In conclusion, this research provides valuable knowledge that may be used to improve educational methods and preserve traditional handcraft paper-cutting.
