    El término tumor de Krukenberg debe reservarse para aquellas metástasis que contiene cantidades importantes de células en anillo de sello con producción intracelular de mucina y reacción sarcomatoide difusa del estroma ovárico. Esta limitación es importante, porque los tumores con estas características microscópicas también tienen características anatomopatológicas macroscópicas y clínicas claras. Casi todos han hecho metástasis a partir del estómago, aunque algunos proceden de la mama, del intestino o de otros órganos que contienen glándulas mucosas1,2. El objetivo del presente trabajo es aportar datos a la casuística nacional presentando las características clínicas, diagnósticas, terapéuticas y pronóstico de este tumor.

    The term Krukenberg tumor metastases should be reserved for those containing significant amounts of signet ring cells with intracellular mucin production and diffuse sarcomatoid ovarian stromal reaction. This limitation is important because tumors with these microscopic characteristics also have macroscopic pathologic features and clear clinics. Almost all have metastasized from the stomach, although some come from the breast, bowel or other organs that contain glands mucosas1,2. The aim of this study is to provide data to the national casuistry presenting therapeutic clinical, diagnostic, and prognosis of this tumor.
