Resumen de Estudio descriptivo de las cesáreas en el Hospital Materno-Infantil Canto Grande

  OBJETIVO: Determinar la tasa de cesárea y principales indicaciones. LUGAR: Hospital Materno. Infantil Canto Grande de primer nivel de atención. DISEÑO: Estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo y transversal. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Se estudió 429 gestantes cesareadas. RESULTADOS: En el año 2003, hubo 4072 partos, 429 fueron por cesárea, dando una tasa de 10,5%. En el grupo etario de 20 a 35 años se practicó 60% del total y en adolescentes menores de 20 años el 29,8%. De estado civil conviviente fue el 82,5% y sólo 6,7% era casada. Las principales indicaciones de la cesárea fueron : cesárea anterior (15,4%), presentación podálica (13,5%), estrechez pélvica (12,6% macrosomía fetal (11,9%) y sufrimiento fetal agudo (10,5%). CONCLUSIONES: La tasa de cesárea es la que corresponde a un Hospital de primer nivel donde no se practica cirugía obstétrica en gestantes de riesgo alto, las cuales son derivadas a hospitales de mayor nivel. En cuanto a las indicaciones, difieren muy poco a las de otros hospitales.
