Resumen de El pensamiento crítico en la investigación social

El presente ensayo recoge las ideas que expuse en la Universidad de Panamá, durante el coloquio sobre el Pensamiento Crítico, por invitación del Instituto de Estudios Nacionales (IDEN). Se trata de ofrecer otra perspectiva sobre el pensamiento crítico, que permite analizar, entender y evaluar la realidad, con base a los conocimientos e inteligencia para tomar decisiones que puedan ser sustentada de forma razonable. Un investigador social debe tener esa curiosidad científica para comprender de forma reflexiva la información, cuestionar y profundizar desde sus propias posturas, la solución de los problemas de forma crítica para mejorar la sociedad. El Pensamiento Crítico, no es una posición teórica en el sentido estricto de conjunto organizado de ideas que explican un fenómeno y/o hecho social. Argumento que es una actitud y una habilidad que todo investigador debe emplear al momento de construir su objeto de estudio, de plantear el problema de investigación, decidir los objetivos, en el análisis teórico y las conclusiones.

This essay gathers the ideas I presented at the University of Panama, during the Colloquium on Critical Thinking, at the invitation of the Institute of National Studies (IDEN). It is about offering another perspective on critical thinking, which allows analyzing, understanding and evaluating reality, based on knowledge and intelligence to make decisions that can be reasonably supported. A social researcher must have that scientific curiosity to reflectively understand information, question and deepen from their own positions, the solution of problems in a critical way to improve society. Critical Thinking is not a theoretical position in the strict sense of an organized set of ideas that explain a social phenomenon and/or fact. My argument is that critical thinking is an attitude and a skill that every researcher should use when constructing his object of study, to raise the problem of research, to decide the objectives, in the theoretical analysis and in the conclusions.
