    Este artículo pretende rastrear el origen de la segunda generación teórica de la literatura gráfica: los psicopedagogos. Estos reconstruirían la figura del niño como “primitivo” en paralelo al surgimiento del Cómic infantil. Su embrión se articuló mediante una prueba que, entre 1892 y 1910, propuso a niños y niñas de los cinco continentes adaptar al dibujo un poema de Struwwelpeter. Este experimento fue inaugurado por el estadounidense Earl Barnes y - tras el viaje hopi de Aby Warburg - continuado por Karl Lamprecht y Siegfried Levinstein en Alemania. Finalmente, a través de los trabajos de Rudolf Lindner, exploraremos como – de acuerdo a Michel Foucault - el examen moral del niño “primitivo” sería paulatinamente sustituido por el test psicológico de otra nueva figura: el niño “idiota”.

    This article aims to trace the origin of the second theoretical generation of graphic literature: the psycho-pedagogues, whom reconstructed the figure of the child as “primitive” in parallel with the emergence of comics for children. Its embryo was articulated through a test that, between 1892 and 1910, proposed boys and girls from the five continents to adapt a poem from Struwwelpeter into pictures. Earl Barnes, an American, initiated the experiment and – following Aby Warburg's Hopi journey – it was continued by Karl Lamprecht and Siegfried Levinstein in Germany. Finally, through the works of Rudolf Lindner, we will explore how - as Michel Foucault had already anticipated - the moral examination of the “primitive” child would be gradually replaced by the psychological test of another new figure: the “idiot” kid.
