The purpose of this study is, on the one hand, to analyze within the educational system the problems experienced in educational institutions, and secondly, to articulate the main contributions of several philosophers of the 20th century, including Popper, Lakatos, Kuhn and Feyerabend, since these authors have tried to explain the process of knowledge construction. His contributions are of great significance today. This study outlines the development of knowledge and the contributions proposed by the Scientific Research Program (PIC), which establishes it as a unit made up of a sequence of scientific theories with continuity, which gives meaning in both space and time. It contributes to scientific activity that follows the problem-based principle. This thought embraces elements of the ideology of his teachers Popper and Kuhn, which is known as sophisticated falsificationism. The essential elements of a program are: the central core, the protective belt, and the positive and negative heuristics. This creates a set of theories that are related to each other, in such a way that some come from others. This theory was used with the objective of predicting events and each new theory will explain more things than the previous one. Popper maintains that every theory must be falsified, since, by failing to pass the tests of empirical refutation, it is simply replaced by another. This idea includes some assumptions, such as the recognition of the deductive method for the theoretical basis and experience as a corroboration method. On the other hand, Feyerabend refutes what Popper points out and mentions that every theory is not necessarily proven by experience, that is, they require complex theories that are far from the facts. Therefore, falsificationism does not provide tools for the researcher. It is concluded that education is the pillar of development for the advancement of science and technology, which is why it is necessary to be at the forefront of the changes that are increasingly being introduced into society.
