Valoración del Instrumento de Evaluación de las Prácticas Preprofesionales en Odontología

    Los instrumentos de evaluación de las prácticas clínicas facilitan al docente discernir el nivel de aprendizaje alcanzado por el estudiante; y, a este le permiten conocer sus logros y reconocer las competencias que aún necesita desarrollar. Con el fin de profundizar en el tema, se plantea la presente investigación cualitativa de tipo descriptiva con un diseño observacional, transversal con el objetivo de valorar el instrumento de evaluación de las prácticas preprofesionales en la Carrera de Odontología. En el proceso metodológico se realizó un análisis de contenido mediante una lista de cotejo, un grupo focal y una entrevista a profundidad. Los resultados del análisis muestran que el instrumento de evaluación es bueno, es decir, cumple con algunos estándares de calidad; y el criterio de estudiantes y docentes es que cumple la función de evaluar, pero no con calidad, ya que no posee indicadores de evaluación, tampoco facilita la autoevaluación y la retroalimentación, los parámetros de calificación no son claros y las evidencias obtenidas del trabajo práctico realizado por el educando son muy generales. En conclusión, se evidencia que el documento carece de un formato claro, de indicaciones, observaciones, objetivo e indicadores de evaluación y de un promedio final de la práctica ejecutada.

    The evaluation instruments for clinical practices enable the teacher to discern the level of learning achieved by the student; and, they allow the student to recognize their achievements and identify the competencies they still need to develop. To investigate the subject in depth, the present qualitative descriptive research is proposed with an observational, transversal design to assess the evaluation instrument of the pre-professional practices in the Dentistry Career. In the methodological process, a content analysis was carried out using a checklist, a focus group, and an in-depth interview. The results of the analysis show that the evaluation instrument is adequate, meaning it meets some quality standards; however, both students and teachers agree that it fulfills the function of evaluation, but not with quality, as it lacks evaluation indicators, does not facilitate self-assessment and feedback, the grading parameters are not clear, and the evidence obtained from the practical work performed by the learner is very general. In conclusion, the document lacks a clear format, indications, observations, objective and evaluation indicators, and a final average of the practice performed.
