Resumen de Utilidad del test STROOP en la evaluación de funciones cognitivas en personas con demencia

El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar uutilidad del test STROOP en la evaluación de funciones cognitivas en personas con demencia. La presente investigación, se ejecutó a partir del paradigma cuantitativo, de tipo descriptiva y se complementa con un diseño documental-bibliográfico, lo que permitió la recolección de la información de artículos arbitrados, trabajos de grado, entre otros. Se empleó el método analítico-sintético. Además, se realizó una revisión exhaustiva de la literatura científica existente. Se concluye que, el uso del test STROOP en pacientes con deterioro cognitivo ha demostrado ser una herramienta valiosa para la evaluación de la función cognitiva en estos grupos. Los resultados obtenidos proporcionan evidencia de que el test STROOP es sensible para detectar diferencias en el rendimiento cognitivo entre los pacientes con deterioro cognitivo y los pacientes con demencia. Estos hallazgos resaltan la importancia de la evaluación temprana y precisa de la función cognitiva.

The aim of the research was to analyse the usefulness of the STROOP test in the assessment of cognitive functions in people with dementia. This research was carried out from the quantitative paradigm, descriptive and complemented with a documentary-bibliographic design, which allowed the collection of information from refereed articles, graduate work, among others. The analytical-synthetic method was used. In addition, an exhaustive review of the existing scientific literature was carried out. It is concluded that the use of the STROOP test in patients with cognitive impairment has proven to be a valuable tool for the evaluation of cognitive function in these groups. The results provide evidence that the STROOP test is sensitive in detecting differences in cognitive performance between patients with cognitive impairment and patients with dementia. These findings highlight the importance of early and accurate assessment of cognitive function.
