Los estilos de crianza influyen en las relaciones entre padres e hijos y resulta de interés analizar su relación con la autoestima de estos últimos. El objetivo de la presente investigación fue determinar la relación entre los Estilos de Crianza y la Autoestima en adolescentes del Centro Cultural Comunitario “La Casita”, de la ciudad de Guayaquil, Ecuador. Fue un estudio de nivel relacional, de tipo observacional; prospectivo; transversal; y analítico. La población estuvo conformada por 102 adolescentes. Los resultados obtenidos determinaron que el 54,9% de la población es de género femenino, con predominios del rango de edad entre 12 a 13 años (48%) y del nivel de estudio de octavo de básica (34,3%). El 41,2% de los adolescentes presentaron un nivel de Autoestima elevada; 31,4% Autoestima media y 27,5% Autoestima baja. Se evidenció que las subvariables en las que existe una correlación estadísticamente significativa, tanto en la escala de socialización parental del Padre como de la Madre son: Diálogo; Afecto; e Indiferencia y se concluyó que existió relación significativa entre los estilos de crianza (socialización parental) de ambos padres con Autoestima.
Parenting styles influence the relationships between parents and children and it is interesting to analyze their relationship with the self-esteem of the latter. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between Parenting Styles and Self-esteem in adolescents from the "La Casita" Community Cultural Center, in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. It was a relational level study, of an observational type; prospective; cross; and analytical. The population consisted of 102 adolescents. The results obtained determined that 54.9% of the population is female, with a predominance of the age range between 12 to 13 years (48%) and the eighth grade level of study (34.3%). 41.2% of adolescents presented a high level of self-esteem; 31.4% average self-esteem and 27.5% low self-esteem. It was evidenced that the subvariables in which there is a statistically significant correlation, both in the parental socialization scale of the Father and the Mother are: Dialogue; Keen; and Indifference and it was concluded that there was a significant relationship between the parenting styles (parental socialization) of both parents with Self-esteem.
