Resumen de El mito negativo de Antonio López de Santa Anna: replanteamientos en la historiografía, la ficción literaria y el cine

Al representar sucesos y personajes históricos, tanto la ficción literaria como la cinematográfica reelaboran mitos y símbolos que conforman el imaginario colectivo. Partiendo de este supuesto, el presente artículo aborda la representación del militar y presidente mexicano Antonio López de Santa Anna en la novela El seductor de la patria, de Enrique Serna y en el largometraje Su Alteza Serenísima, de Felipe Cazals. El análisis de ambos acercamientos ficcionales a este antihéroe de la historia mexicana se sitúa dentro del debate acerca de los libros de texto gratuitos así como en el marco de los replanteamientos que en los años noventa y principios del nuevo milenio se realizaron en relación con el mito negativo en que se había convertido este general y político decimonónico en el imaginario colectivo.

To represent historic events and personalities both literary fiction as well as cinematography re-elaborate myths and symbols which conform to the collective imagination. Moving from this supposition, this paper approaches the representation of the Mexican soldier and president Antonio López de Santa Anna in the novel El seductor de la patria, by Enrique Serna, and in the film Su Alteza Serenísima, by Felipe Cazals. The analysis of both fictional approaches to this anti-hero of Mexican history is situated within the debate on free textbooks and the frame of reconsideration which during the 1990s and beginning of the new millennium was realized regarding the negative myth into which this 19th century general and politician had been converted in the collective imagination.
