  Esta investigación consiste en describir el somatotipo y la potencia de los miembros superiores e inferiores de los jugadores de la selección Boyacá masculina de balonmano sub - 21. La metodología es de diseño descriptivo, con un grupo establecido y un enfoque cuantitativo. El presente estudio se realizó en la ciudad de Tunja con 15 deportistas pertenecientes a la selección Boyacá masculina de balonmano. A este grupo poblacional se les efectuó las siguientes pruebas: la aplicación del protocolo de la ISAK para determinar el somatotipo; el ejercicio de sentadilla para medir la potencia del tren inferior y el ejercicio de press de banca para medir la potencia del tren superior.

  This investigation consists in describing the somatotype and the power of the upper and lower members of the players of the Boyaca men’s handball sub-21 team. The methodology is descriptive in design, with an established group, and a quantitative approach. The present study was conducted in the city of Tunja with 15 athlètes belonging to the Boyacà men’s handball team. To this population, the following tests were applied:

  application of the ISAK protocol to determine the somatotype, squat exercise to measure the power of the lower train and bench press exercise to measure the power of the upper train.
