La trayectoria del matrimonio conformado por José Frau Ruiz y Margarita González Giraud se enmarca en el efervescente panorama artístico español de los años treinta del siglo XX. Durante esta década, ambos pintores comenzaron a exponer en los más relevantes certámenes nacionales e internacionales, convirtiéndose en representantes de vanguardia con su característico estilo moderno y lírico, próximo a los nuevos realismos que triunfaban en Europa. El presente artículo recoge su presencia en los catálogos, así como las múltiples menciones a sus obras en las crónicas artísticas de la época, para conformar un estudio basado en las fuentes sobre la entrelazada vida y obra de ambos artistas.

The trajectory of the couple made up of José Frau Ruiz and Margarita González Giraud is part of the effervescent Spanish artistic scene of the 1930s. During this decade, both painters began to participate in the most important national and international exhibitions, becoming representatives of the avant-garde with their characteristic modern and lyrical style, close to the new realisms that were triumphing in Europe. This article collects their presence in the catalogs, as well as the multiple mentions of their works in the artistic chronicles of the time, to form a study based on the sources on the intertwined life and work of both artists.
