Resumen de Virus Epstein-Barr y Virus Herpes Simple Tipo 1 en relación con el cáncer

  Los virus Epstein-Barr y Herpes Simple tipo 1 son los que mayor relación tienen con el campo de la oncología .El virus Epstein-Barr está relacionado con múltiples tumores: carcinoma gástrico, linfoma de Burkitt, linfoma de Hodgkin, linfoma no Hodgkin en inmunocompetentes, carcinoma nasofaríngeo indiferenciado y carcinoma de esófago. Por otro lado, el virus Herpes Simple tipo 1, es un prototipo para la investigación en viroterapia oncolítica. Hasta ahora muchos de los pacientes tratados con quimioterapia y radioterapia no han obtenido resultados beneficiosos, sin embargo, se está demostrando que con este tipo de tratamiento se podrían conseguir tasas de supervivencia mayores para los pacientes oncológicos.

  Epstein-Barr Virus and Herpes Simplex Virus 1 are two of the virus more related to the field of oncology for different reasons. The Epstein-Barr virus is related to multiple tumors, the most prevalent are: gastric carcinoma, Burkitt's lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma in immunocompetent undifferentiated nasopharyngeal carcinoma and esophageal carcinoma. On theother hand, the Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 due to their pathogeniccharacteristics such as their ability to penetrate, large replication in the host cell and the ability to direct modify genetically several types of cells to make this prototype virus for the research of oncolytic virotherapy. So far many of the patients treated with chemotherapy and radiation therapy have beneficial resultsobtained, however, is proving that with this type of treatment could achieve higher survival rates for cancer patients.
