    El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar el grado de dependencia que tienen los alumnos de las Instituciones de Educación Superior en Michoacán, específicamente en la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo y en la Universidad Tecnológica de Morelia sobre el uso de sus dispositivos móviles, determinar si existen diferencias significativas entre estos dos grupos de participantes y sentar las bases para establecer de manera clara qué actitudes se espera de parte de los docentes y facilitadores en la institución respecto al uso de los dispositivos móviles del alumando durante la jornada y activiades escolares, así como deterinar la responsabilidad social que tienen las IES ante la dependencia que muestran los alumnos en clase al utilizar su dispoitivo móvil. Resulta imperante recibir orientación para los docentes con el objetivo de motivar al alumnado a utilizar herramientas digitales siempre y cuando aporten realmente al proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje, también se concluye que es de suma importancia la conducta que se espera de parte de los padres frente al uso del celular en sus hijos universitarios. Para la obtención de la información se utilizó un cuestionario de 429 repuestas, un diseño metodológico cualitativo no experimental, con un enfoque transversal y un alcance descriptivo. Para el análisis de datos se utilizó la estadística descriptiva y una prueba no parametrica de diferencia de medias para muestras independienes con el propósito de probar si las medias de estos dos grupos desconocidos entre si son iguales o no. La selección de datos arrojó como resultado que 195 alumnos de la UMSNH utilizan en el rango de dependencia sus dispositivos móviles en almenos una de las vairables estudiadas y 48 alumnos de la UTM utilizan en el rango de dependencia sus dispositivos móviles, por otro lado, la prueba no parametrica U de Mann Whitney arrojó valores p > a 0.05 lo que significa que no existe una diferencia estadística significativa en la variable “dependencia” entre ambos grupos de estudio.

    The objective of this research was to determine the degree of dependence that the students of the Higher Education Institutions in Michoacán, specifically at the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo and at the Technological University of Morelia, have on the use of their mobile devices, determine if there are significant differences between these two groups of participants and lay the foundations to clearly establish what attitudes are expected from teachers and facilitators in the institution regarding the use of students' mobile devices during the school day and activities, as well as how to determine the social responsibility that Higher education institutions have regarding the dependency that students show in class when using their mobile device. It is imperative to receive guidance for teachers with the aim of motivating students to use digital tools as long as they really contribute to the teaching-learning process. It is also concluded that the behavior expected from parents regarding their use is of utmost importance. of the cell phone in their university-aged children. To obtain the information, a questionnaire with 429 responses was used, a non-experimental qualitative methodological design, with a transversal approach and a descriptive scope. For data analysis, descriptive statistics and a non-parametric mean difference test for independent samples were used with the purpose of testing whether the means of these two unknown groups are equal or not. The data selection showed that 195 UMSNH students use their mobile devices in the range of dependency in at least one of the variables studied and 48 students from the UTM use their mobile devices in the range of dependency, on the other hand, the Non-parametric Mann Whitney U test showed p values ​​> 0.05, which means that there is no significant statistical difference in the “dependence” variable between both study groups.
