Resumen de Nivel de Conocimiento sobre la Diabetes Mellitus Tipo 2 y Estilo de Vida en Prediabéticos de la Unidad de Medicina Familiar Nº 73

  La Prediabetes es un estado que antecede a la Diabetes Mellitus, la cual es una enfermedad crónico-degenerativa que daña múltiples órganos y sistemas del individuo que la padece, generando alto costo en la salud pública. Al ser un estadio previo comparte similitudes en los factores de riesgo y la génesis de la enfermedad, por lo que es vital realizar medidas preventivas que eviten o reduzcan la progresión de la Prediabetes hacia la Diabetes Mellitus. El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre la Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 y estilo de vida en pacientes prediabéticos de la Unidad de Medicina Familiar No 73. Para ello se realizó un estudio observacional, analítico, transversal aplicando el instrumento “Fantástico” modificado por Pariona Rojas S. para evaluar el estilo de vida y el DKQ-24 para medir el conocimiento de Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2. en pacientes con prediabetes de la Unidad de Medicina Familiar No73. Se encontró una correlación positiva mediante la prueba Tau B de Kendall (0.859) entre el Nivel de conocimiento sobre diabetes mellitus y el Estilo de vida en sujetos con prediabetes. Reforzando el enfoque preventivo del primer nivel de atención, es indispensable continuar con la educación a la salud.

  Prediabetes is a state that precedes Diabetes Mellitus, which is a chronic-degenerative disease that damages multiple organs and systems of the individual who suffers from it, generating high costs in public health. Being a previous stage, it shares similarities in the risk factors and the genesis of the disease, so it is vital to carry out preventive measures to avoid or reduce the progression of Prediabetes towards Diabetes Mellitus. The objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge about Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and lifestyle in prediabetic patients of the Family Medicine Unit No. 73. For this, an observational, analytical, cross-sectional study was carried out applying the instrument “Fantastic” modified by Pariona Rojas S. to evaluate lifestyle and the DKQ-24 to measure knowledge of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in patients with prediabetes from Family Medicine Unit No73. A positive correlation was found using Kendall's Tau B test (0.859) between the Level of knowledge about diabetes mellitus and Lifestyle in subjects with prediabetes. Reinforcing the preventive approach of the first level of care, it is essential to continue with health education.
