Resumen de Analysis of sea-land breeze around the city of Huelva (Spain)

En los alrededores de la ciudad de Huelva existen tres importantes complejos industriales, que emiten diversos contaminantes. La brisa marina influye en los procesos atmosféricos de dispersión y juega un papel importante en fenómenos como la recirculación de contaminantes. Para conocer el fenómeno de la brisa marítimo-terrestre en esta región hemos estudiado previamente el sistema de vientos con los datos registrados durante 1999 a 2002 en la Punta del Sebo (situada en un núcleo industrial, a 4 km de la ciudad de Huelva). Hemos calculado diferentes parámetros mensuales para caracterizar la brisa, es decir, la frecuencia, velocidad media, dirección media y hora de inicio de la brisa marina.

In the surroundings of the city of Huelva there are three important industrial complexes, which emit several pollutants. The sea-land breeze influence in the atmospheric processes of the dispersion and it plays an important role in phenomena such as the recirculation of pollutants. In order to know the phenomenon of the sea-land breeze in this region we have previously studied the wind system with the data registered during 1999 to 2002 in Punta del Sebo (situated in an industrial centre, 4 km from the city of Huelva). We have calculated different monthly parameters to characterise the breeze, i.e. the frequency, medium speed, medium direction and hour when the marine breeze starts.
