    Durante 1995 y 1996 se evaluaron cultivares de repollo con el propósito de seleccionar materiales promisorios de altos rendimientos y con buenas características agronómicas. El primer año se utilizaron cuatro híbridos experimentales y el segundo año se incorporaron tres híbridos y tres variedades de repollo verde y dos de repollo morado. Los resultados obtenidos en el primer año, no mostraron diferencia significativa entre los rendimientos de los diferentes tratamientos evaluados; sin embargo, se encontró que los híbridos experimentales tuvieron un mayor diámetro de cabeza al compararlo con el testigo comercial Izalco. El híbrido que mostró más precocidad fue el XPH-5781 y el menos precoz fue el XPH-5957 comparado con el testigo Izalco, con rendimientos de 53.62, 54.37 y 55.16 t/ha, respectivamente. En el segundo año, los híbridos que sobresalieron fueron: XPH-5957, XPH-15513 y Pacífica, que superaron al testigo Izalco, con rendimientos de 50.06, 47.35, 45.48 y 43.95 t/ha, respectivamente.

    During 1995 and 1996 were evaluated cultivates of cabbage with the purpose to select high-performance promissory materials and with good characteristic agronomics. The first year were used four experimental hybrids, and the second year were incorporated three hybrids and three varieties of green cabbage and two varieties of purple cabbage. The results obtained in the first year did not show meaningful differences between the yields of the different evaluated treatments; however, it was found that the experimental hybrids had a greater head diameter upon comparing it with the commercial witness Izalco. The hybrid that showed more precociousness was the XPH-5781 and the less precociousness was the XPH-5957 compared with the witness Izalco, with yields of 53.62, 54.37 and 55.16 t/ha, respectively. In the second year, the hybrids outstanding were: XPH-5957, XPH-15513 and Pacific, that surpassed to the witness Izalco, with yields of 50.06, 47.35, 45.48 and 43.95 t/ha, respectively.
