This article analyses the relationship between, on the one hand, Francisco Fernández del Riego and the Galaxia group and, on the other, the left-wing republican Galicianists based in Buenos Aires, during the second half of the 1950s, concerning the journal Galicia Emigrante, which was edited by Luis Seoane. Based on an archive comprising journalistic items, correspondence and political reports, this study connects the power relations constitutive of the transatlantic Galician cultural field with the global context of the struggles for cultural hegemony during the Cold War.
