    Este artículo presenta parte de la investigación doctoral realizada sobre construcciones de tierra cruda,albañilería de adobe, ubicadas en la zona centro sur de Chile. Sobre el modelo denominado Casa ColonialChilena, o Casa Patronal, construido entre los siglos XVI a XIX, su origen se atribuye a la importación delmodelo tipológico desde España, por parte de los conquistadores españoles durante el siglo XVI. Lametodología usada para este artículo incluye realizar una revisión bibliográfica, identificar la evoluciónhistórica del modelo en estudio e investigar sobre casos de este tipo de construcciones que se conservanhasta la actualidad y que han resistido grandes eventos sísmicos.

    This article presents part of the doctoral research on raw earth constructions, and adobe masonry, locatedin the south-central zone of Chile. The origin of the Chilean Colonial House model, or Casa Patronal, builtbetween the 16th and 19th centuries, is attributed to the importation of the typological model from Spainby the Spanish conquerors during the 16th century. The methodology used for this article is to carry out abibliographic review, to identify the historical evolution of the model, and to research on cases of this typeof construction that are preserved to the present day and that have resisted significant seismic events.
