    En este trabajo se presenta la propuesta “Descubriendo el National Park Service”, desarrolladaconjuntamente entre el Comité Nacional Español de ICOMOS, a través de su Comisión de Educación yParticipación; y el National Park Service de los Estados Unidos de América, mediante su Office ofInternational Affairs.La actuación ha servido para dar a conocer, en el ámbito iberoamericano, la historia del National ParkService y su modelo de gestión integral del patrimonio cultural y natural; así como la gestión que realizaen El Castillo de San Marcos (Florida), El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro (Nuevo México y Texas) y PadreIsland National Seashore (Texas). Todos ellos son una muestra de la presencia española en los actualesEstados Unidos de América.

    This paper summarizes the proposal “Discovering the National Park Service” jointly developed by theSpanish National Committee of ICOMOS, through its Commission on Education and Participation; andthe National Park Service, through its Office of International Affairs.The delivery of a series of webinars on the topic has enabled audiences in the Ibero-American world tobecome familiar with the history of the National Park Service and its approach to the integratedmanagement of cultural and natural heritage. Also covered by the webinars were the management ofseveral National Park Service units directly related to the Spanish Colonial history of what is now theUnited States of America, including: El Castillo de San Marcos (Florida), El Camino Real de TierraAdentro (New Mexico and Texas), and Padre Island National Seashore (Texas).
