    El presente artículo pretende ser un acercamiento a uno de los elementos identitarios de la ciudad deTomelloso: las “Cuevas-Bodega”. Para ello se comienza analizando los orígenes de este tipo dearquitectura tradicional y la evolución a lo largo del tiempo. La cultura del vino desde tiemposancestrales ha estado intensamente ligada al hombre ya que, éste la ha desarrollado y valorado tantoeconómica como artísticamente; es por esto, que se está apostando por reconocer,rescatar y difundirel patrimonio vitivinícola del cual las “Cuevas-Bodega” constituyen sin duda la manifestación deArquitectura popular más numerosa y extendida

    This article is an approach to one of the identifying elements of the city of Tomelloso: the "CuevasBodega" (wine caves). It begins by analysing the origins of this type of traditional architecture and itsevolution over time. Since ancient times, the culture of wine has been intensely linked to man, who hasdeveloped and valued it both economically and artistically. This is why we are committed torecognising, rescuing and disseminating the wine heritage, of which the "Cuevas-Bodega" isundoubtedly the most numerous and widespread manifestation of popular architecture.
