    En 2015 se creó la Línea de Arqueología Náutica y Subacuática en la Universidad de Cádiz. Es la primeravez que se crea, en una universidad española, un espacio de formación, investigación, conservación ydifusión centrado en el PCS.En la actualidad la mayoría los proyectos de la Línea se concentran en Algeciras y en la zona del Estrechode Gibraltar, por su gran interés histórico, patrimonial y medioambiental, buscando generar un impactoreal en el tejido socioeconómico y cultural de la zona, a través de la puesta en valor del patrimoniosubacuático y la asistencia en la creación de productos turísticos relacionados.Entre estos proyectos destaca el Proyecto TIDE (Interreg Espacio Atlántico) que persigue la puesta envalor del patrimonio mediante la aplicación de nuevas tecnologías. A continuación, presentaremos losavances del proyecto en el Estrecho de Gibraltar, basados en la primera fase de análisis científico y en ladefinición de una metodología de trabajo común que ha dado lugar a un conjunto de herramientas para eldesarrollo de actividades turísticas vinculadas al patrimonio cultural marítimo y subacuático. Lasactividades piloto que se están desarrollando se centran en, aplicaciones de realidad virtual y realidadaumentada para la creación de experiencias inmersivas y la retransmisión de trabajos arqueológicossubacuáticos gracias a una boya de comunicación.

    In 2015, a Nautical and Underwater Archaeology Line of investigation was created at the University ofCadiz. It is the first time that a space for training, research, conservation and dissemination focused on theUCH has been created in a Spanish university.At present, most of the projects are concentrated in Algeciras and in the area of the Strait of Gibraltar, dueto its great historical, heritage and environmental interest. The projects seek to generate a real impact onthe socio-economic and cultural fabric of the area through the valorisation of the underwater heritage andthe support to the creation of related tourist products.One of these projects is the TIDE Project (Interreg Atlantic Area), which aims to enhance the value ofheritage through the application of new technologies. We will now present the progress of the project inthe Strait of Gibraltar, based on the first phase of scientific analysis and the definition of a common working methodology that has given rise to a set of tools for the development of tourist activities linked to maritimeand underwater cultural heritage. The pilot activities that are being developed focus on virtual reality andaugmented reality applications for the creation of immersive experiences and the retransmission ofunderwater archaeological works thanks to a communication buoy
