O artigo tem como objetivo abordar duas obras de Marco Túlio Cícero, escritas no século I antes da era comum. Foram selecionados trechos específicos dos diálogos De Natura Deorum e De Diuinatione, em que Cícero debate a função da divinação e o papel dos áugures na religião romana e suas ramificações na arena política de Roma. Dessa maneira, o artigo irá analisar o debate religioso e filosófico realizado por Cícero nessas obras.

The article aims to address two works by Marcus Tullius Cicero, written in the 1st century before the common era. Specific excerpts from the dialogues De Natura Deorum and De Diuinatione were selected, in which Cicero debates the function of divination and the role of augurs in roman religion and its ramifications in the political arena of Rome. In this way, the article will analyze the religious and philosophical debate carried out by Cicero in these works.
