    Walter Benjamin consideraba que al filósofo le correspondía la tarea de crear otras maneras de pensar, de ver y de vivir, y que esta misión era urgente. Las imágenes dialécticas fueron pensadas así, como herramientas para combatir la fantasmagoría propia del capitalismo. Algunas veces las describió como conste-laciones y trabajó arduamente en la idea de que contuvieran un carácter onírico y, por lo tanto, que pudieran ser inconscientes. Esta última característica la discutió arduamente con Adorno, quien siempre insistió en la importancia del polo objetivo de la dialectización. Aunque no cabe duda de que las imágenes dialécticas fueron un proyecto inconcluso de Benjamin, éstas no hubieran sido posibles sin la intervención crítica de Adorno.

    Walter Benjamin considered that the philosopher had the task of creating oth-er ways of thinking, seeing, and living and that this mission was urgent. The dialectical images were key to this task because they were the only way to resist the phantasmagoria proper of capitalism. Sometimes, he compared them with constellations, and he also worked on how close they could be to dreams, and therefore, to the unconscious. This last feature of such images, would be discus with Adorno, who always insisted on the importance of the objective pole of the dialectic. Although there is no doubt that the idea of the dialectical imag-es was Benjamin ́s, it could not have been possible without Adorno ́s critical commentaries.
